The short version
This website sets no cookies. It stores one preference on your device — your answer to the cookie notice — and nothing else. There are no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the footer.
This Cookie Policy explains what Sportsaathi stores in your browser when you visit https://sportsaathi.com, why, and how you stay in control of it. It forms part of the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
It is deliberately specific rather than hedged. Where a category of tracking is not used, this Policy says so plainly instead of reserving the right to use it, and it will be updated with fresh consent before that ever changes.
1. What we actually store
One item, on your own device, in your browser's local storage. It records your answer to the cookie notice so you are not asked the same question on every visit.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires | Sent to us? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sportsaathi.consent | Local storage | Your cookie choice, the Policy version it was given against, and when you gave it | Never expires; removed when you clear site data | No — read only by this page's own code |
| sportsaathi.consent.dismissed | Session storage | Set only if you dismiss the notice without choosing, so it does not reappear on every page for the rest of that browsing session | When you close the tab | No |
No cookies are set. Nothing in the table above is transmitted with your requests, because local and session storage are not sent to a server the way a cookie is.
3. Categories, and which ones we use
Cookie notices usually list categories a site might use. This one states which are actually in use today:
| Category | What it would do | In use? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keep the site functioning — sessions, security, remembering your consent choice | Yes — one local-storage record, described in Section 1 |
| Functional | Remember preferences such as language or layout | No — the site has no preferences to remember |
| Analytics / performance | Measure which pages and features are used | No — no analytics provider is installed |
| Advertising / targeting | Build a profile to select adverts | No, and we do not intend to |
| Third-party / social | Set by embedded widgets, players, or share buttons | No — social links are plain links, and the hero video is served from our own domain |
There are no third-party scripts on this website. The fonts are self-hosted, the video and images are served from our own domain, and the links to Instagram and LinkedIn are ordinary links that set nothing until you follow them.
4. How consent works here
Because the only thing stored is strictly necessary, nothing non-essential loads before you decide — there is nothing waiting in the background for permission. The notice exists so the position is transparent, and so consent is already on record if analytics are ever introduced.
- Accept all and Essential only are presented with equal weight. Neither is pre-selected, styled to be more attractive, or hidden behind an extra click.
- Closing the notice with the Escape key is not consent. It is remembered for that browsing session only, and the notice returns on your next visit.
- Your choice is recorded with the version of this Policy it was given against and the time you gave it.
- If this Policy changes materially, that version number changes and you are asked again rather than having old consent applied to something new.
5. Changing or withdrawing your choice
Withdrawing is as easy as giving: select “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page and the notice reopens, with both options available again.
You can also clear the stored preference yourself through your browser's site-data settings, which removes it entirely; the notice will simply ask again on your next visit. Doing so breaks nothing, because the site does not depend on it.
Every major browser also lets you block or clear cookies and site data wholesale:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies, or Delete browsing data.
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data (iOS), or Safari → Settings → Privacy (macOS).
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Withdrawing consent does not affect anything already done lawfully before the withdrawal, and it does not remove a waitlist signup — to be removed from the waitlist, see Section 7.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a Do Not Track (DNT) header or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal to indicate that you do not want to be tracked.
Neither signal changes anything on this website, for the simple reason that there is nothing here to switch off: no analytics, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. We are not treating the signals as meaningless — we are stating that our behaviour already matches what they ask for.
If analytics are ever introduced, a GPC signal will be honoured as a valid opt-out, and this Policy will be updated to say so before anything is loaded.
7. The Sportsaathi mobile app
The Sportsaathi app has not been released yet. Mobile apps do not use browser cookies; they use the operating system's own storage, and diagnostics through the providers listed in Section 5.1 of the Privacy Policy. When the app launches, this Policy and the Privacy Policy will be updated to describe its storage before release.
Separately, if you join the waitlist on this website, the email address you give us is covered by the Privacy Policy rather than this one — including how to have it deleted.
8. Changes to this Policy
If we introduce any storage beyond what Section 1 describes, this Policy is updated first, its version number is raised, and every visitor is asked to decide again. Consent given against an earlier version is never carried over to new processing.
Non-material changes — clarifications, corrected wording — take effect on posting, with the review date at the top of this page updated.
